MTC Day !!

Note from Mom:

Well…..  she is gone!  It was an incredibly hard day today, watching her go.  But she is off and running.  I'm sure that all is well and she is back to being excited and ready to be there.  As for me…  here we go again.  Only this time I know what is in store for us.  A LONG WAIT !!  A wait for an email,  a wait for a phone call,  a wait for another airport trip (one that is a bit happier).  We're so very proud of her.  She is amazing.  Her setting apart last night was beautiful.  I won't get into it, but she was promised to be Bold…..  loving, and patient.   That's our McKenna.  Love that girl !!

October 19th… My Someday!

 “I love to see the temple.
I'm going there someday
To feel the Holy Spirit,
To listen and to pray.
For the temple is a house of God,
A place of love and beauty.
I'll prepare myself while I am young;
This is my sacred duty.”

October 19th was my someday, I had the wonderful privilege to enter the holy temple and make covenants with my Heavenly Father. The Mesa Temple is beautiful. I walked into that wonderful rolling door and immediately felt at peace. I was awestruck by the beauty. I had tons of family and friends go to temple with me and the room was filled with my loved ones. I was over whelmed with the love that I felt from them. After words we all went out to Teds for some much needed hotdogs after an emotional lovely night!

Called to Serve

It feels like yesterday that I turned my mission papers in. Like many 18 year old girls as soon as the age change was announced, I decided that I wanted to go on a mission. I started mission prep and waited until I could start my papers. I had my last interview 4 months and 1 day before my 19th birthday. However, you are supposed to turn them in 4 months from your availability date, which mine was January 1st. So I was about 2 weeks ahead. And that began my wait for the big white envelope in the mail that came a long 6 weeks later. I could not wait to open it, and neither could Chad. He peaked at my letter without me knowing, and saw the country name on the letter. That punk!

I was so fortunate to have tons of family and friends there to support and watch me open my call. I was completely shocked to see Philippines Cavite on my letter. That was probably the last place that I expected to get called to. Even though it was unexpected I am so excited. I know that I am supposed to go to the Philippines and learn TAGALOG! I’m exactly where I am supposed to be.
